Fees for an Expedited US Passport Renewal
Stop me if you’ve been in this situation before. You’ve just booked a dream vacation to a tropical paradise – or maybe surrounded by mountains if you’re more of a hiker – without even considering those musty documents gathering dust in your desk drawer. When the week of the flight comes around, you start getting things together, and only then do you notice that your passport is about to expire.
What can you do? Your flight leaves in a week, and you’re going out of the country; a driver’s license just won’t cut it. Before you start to panic and consider last-minute cancellations, look at some of the options for paying expedited passport fees.
Directly with a US Passport Agency
Whether you’re renewing or applying for the first time, the fees for a passport book are the same through the US Department of State: $110 for standard processing, which can be a matter of weeks whether you apply through the mail or in person. The problem, of course, is that many travelers willing to pay expedited passport fees do so because they need a document immediately. Even during low season, paying the extra $60 passport expedite fee isn’t a guarantee your password can be returned in 24/48/72 hours, depending on the office and demand.
Guaranteed with Travel Visa Pro
When these passport agencies fail to deliver, Travel Visa Pro does not. Using our expedited document, we’re able to offer an 8-hour return for passport first-time applications and renewals if you live close to one of our nine offices across the United States. If not, then paying an expedited document fee can still get you a new travel document in as little as 1-2 business days if desired.
If your flight leaves within the week, opting for our Emergency Service can get you a passport in as little as eight hours. Similarly, our Next Day Service will process a application for an expedited passport fee by the next business day. Beyond that, TVP still offers Urgent (3-5 business days) and Rush Service (6-10 business days) when you want your application processed quickly but have a little more time to work with.
How to Pay Expedited Passport Fees
Official passport agencies can accept application fees by mail and in person only with a personal check or money order. Travel Visa Pro can accept payment via credit card for our services, but still asks for a check or money order to be sent directly with your application.
If you’re planning to travel in under two weeks, you’ll need at least $170 to cover the base fee and expedited passport fee at the passport agency, and additional fees with Travel Visa Pro if you want to ensure you’ll receive your passport and visas on time.
