Most people think that having a passport allows them to travel internationally. However, not all passports are valid for international travel. Instead, you can only travel if your passport meets the following requirements:

  1. The passport must meet the minimum validity requirement in your destination. Some countries require at least 3 months of validity, while others require 6. If your passport does not meet these criteria, you cannot travel to the country even if your passport is valid. You must renew the passport to make it eligible for entry.
  2. The passport must be in good condition. Immigration authorities do not accept passports with damage or alteration beyond normal wear and tear. You must replace the passport for it to be valid.
  3. The passport must have enough blank pages. Without enough room for stamps, your passport may be valid but ineligible for international travel.
