Trademarks are symbols, words or a combination of both used to identify or represent a product and legally differentiate it from all other product of its kind.
Trademarks may or may not be registered. Registered trademarks are denoted by the ® symbol while unregistered trademarks are denoted by the ™ symbol.
Irrespective of registration, the rights of the holder to the exclusive use of the symbol is guaranteed and protected throughout the lifetime of the product.
Registration at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is necessary for obtaining an apostille/legalization certificate on a trademark. The original or a certified copy of the trademark document is notarized and signed.
