There are a few advantages to obtaining a Vietnam visa on arrival. Though this category of visas varies in complexity from country to country, Vietnam does offer one for US citizens, provided they apply in advance.

What’s the point of a visa on arrival, if you’re applying in advance? Good question. However, it benefits some travelers to apply for this type of visa when they’re not within reach of a Vietnamese embassy or consulate. At this time, there is no way to apply online, but some travel agencies and businesses can help you apply, including Travel Visa Pro!

Getting a Vietnam Visa on Arrival

The visa on arrival is just a way of getting pre-approved for entry when you don’t have the time to apply for a regular tourist visa. Please keep in mind that you can only apply for a Vietnam visa on arrival if you’re coming by plane. Travelers at land and sea border crossings are not eligible.

If you’re sure this is the visa for you, contact a travel agency licensed to assist with the Vietnam visa on arrival like Travel Visa Pro. There is no official government service for these visas. We will then issue you an approval letter, which you should present with a small fee and two passport-sized photos at immigration on arrival.

Are there any disadvantages?

Whether you’re traveling for business or pleasure to Vietnam, Travel Visa Pro can help organize your visa on arrival. With our personalized service designed to fit the needs of corporate travelers and those just seeking a one-time escape, getting a visa to Vietnam is a straightforward process.

There have been reports of travelers being gauged by immigration officials, forced to pay exorbitant fees. Ordinarily, the “stamping fee” required at airports is 25 USD for a single-entry visa, but that is subject to change. Though sometimes the approval letter can take a few business days to complete, rush processing is available in some cases.

Come to one of our five offices across the United States. We can assist with the paperwork for a Vietnam visa on arrival and even provide assistance for an emergency visa if your departure date is quickly approaching.
