Passport

Applicant must submit their current, signed passport. A visa is a stamp or sticker applied to the passport by the Embassy or consulate, therefore the original passport is required.

Photo Requirement

Applicant must submit two (2) identical, color, passport style photographs (no glasses may be worn). The photos must be recent and generally should not be the same used for the passport itself.

Proof of Travel

Applicant must submit a flight reservation from a travel agency or online booking tool (such as an e-confirmation) showing departure from the US and arrival/departure for the destination.

Hotel Reservations

Applicant must submit a letter from a hotel in Burundi confirming the name(s) of the guest(s) and the dates of the reservation. The letter MUST be printed on hotel letterhead and signed by a hotel agent.

Business Cover Letter

Applicant must submit a Business Cover Letter (BCL) from a US company. A BCL is an original document on company letterhead signed by a company official. It must provide the dates, duration and purpose of the trip. It should also include contact details (name and address) of an individual at the host company. Close the letter by accepting moral and financial responsibility for the applicant. Please review the template below.

Letter of Invitation

Applicant must submit a letter of invitation from your partner in Burundi.

The letter must be addressed to the Embassy of Burundi.

The letter must explain the nature or purpose of business and the duration of the proposed business trip.

The letter must state the name as well as the addresses of individuals, departments and organizations in Burundi you intend to visit.

The letter must specify the visa validity and number of entries, the applicant is asking for.

The letter must be on company letterhead and bear signature/stamp.
