Where Can I Renew My Passport

Full-validity passports last ten years, after which they expire and become invalid. Passports also lose their validity if they don’t have any blank pages, thus necessitating a passport renewal. Unfortunately, the passport renewal process is lengthy; it could be months before you get a new passport. As such, it is advisable to lodge a renewal application nine months before your passport expires. So, how should you go about it? Most importantly, you may wonder, “Where can I renew my passport?”

Where Can I Renew My Passport?

The passport renewal process is the easiest way to get a new passport if you previously held a full-validity passport. Passport renewal takes place at the state passport offices. You present your most recent passport, and they process a new one to replace it. Once the renewal process is complete, you should receive the new and old passports! And you should have a new passport that allows you entry into any country that needs a valid U.S. passport.

Unfortunately, state passport offices take months before issuing new passports. So, you might ask, “Where can I get my passport renewed fast?” The answer lies in using a passport expediting service. Travel Visa Pro offers an expedited passport renewal service that features only three steps:

  1. You submit your passport renewal documents to the nearest TVP office. We offer services across 50 states and will direct you to the best place to renew passport near you.
  2. You choose a timeline that best matches your travel needs. Our flexible timeframes range from a few days to weeks.
  3. We process the passport and send the new and old passports to your address within the stipulated time.

If you are in a hurry and want to skip the long lines at the state passport offices and indefinite processing times, expediting is the way to go. Besides, you won’t visit a state passport office and can get your passport processed from the comfort of your home.

Who is Eligible for Passport Renewal?

Before you look for a place to renew passport, you should ensure you match the passport renewal criteria. What are they?

  1. The passport should be in good condition. Passport offices do not accept damaged passports. So, if the wear and tear exceed the normal threshold, you will require a passport replacement instead.
  2. The passport should not have been issued more than fifteen years ago.
  3. The passport should have been issued when you were at least 16 years old. Passports issued to minors do not qualify for a renewal, and you must get a new one.
  4. You should not have changed your legal name. If you have, you should include supporting documentation that shows the same. Failure to provide such proof will necessitate a new passport application using the new name.
  5. The passport should not have been reported lost or stolen. If you have previously filled out form DS-64 regarding your most recent passport, it is invalid and thus not eligible for renewal.

You must also have the physical passport as proof of identification and citizenship. If you have lost the passport, you must apply for a new one.

How Do I Renew My Passport?

The passport renewal process is straightforward as it does not require document verification from a local acceptance agent. Instead, these are the documents you should submit:

  1. Fill out form DS-82,
  2. Attach two recent passport photos, and
  3. Provide your most recent passport.

You don’t need to worry about “Where can I renew my passport near me?” as TVP can handle the entire process on your behalf!
